Design
While researching the project I bumped into a definition of landscape design — the main task of landscape design is to smooth unnatural regular geometric constructions, ease their pressure on surrounding nature, disguise defects and flaws. Put simply, I would say that landscape design is about a soft form that surrounds rectangular sharp objects. This idea became the main metaphor for the design concept. To maintain this, I used in the book such visual solutions as gradients and smooth enveloping text what is associated with softness. This design solution I used for designing the cover as well. Also, working on the design for this book I keep in mind the principles of landscape design as simplicity, cohesion, harmony and aesthetic.
